Chavez Scores, But Kaustick Falls

CORONA — Laura Chavez picked up her first goal since returning to Kaustick, but it wasn’t enough to secure the first victory of the season as Kaustick fell to No Fear, 5-1.
It was a disappointing loss, especially considering how well Kaustick played.
The bounces, however, did not go their way.
Trailing 2-0, Kaustick received a blow when the officials allowed a No Fear goal to stand, despite it being knocked in with a high stick. Moments later, a quick whistle caused the refs to waive off a would-be goal by Marc Posner. Instead of being 2-1, it was 3-0.
Chavez broke the shutout in the third, batting home a rebound for her first of the season.
Kaustick fell to 0-5 on the season.
